Breast Implants

Ideal Candidate:

  • Small, underdeveloped breasts
  • Loss of breast due to mastectomy or injury
  • Seeking improvement in breast shape and size

The Method:

Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammaplasty, enlarges a woman’s breasts through the surgical placement of breast implants. This procedure increases the fullness and projection of the breasts, adding symmetry and balance to the figure. A consultation with Dr. Kagan can determine implant placement, type (saline or silicone) and size based on your breast anatomy, body type and desired increase in size.

The Procedure:

Under a general anesthesia, incisions are made to create a pocket either directly behind the breast tissue or beneath the pectoral muscle and on top of the chest wall. The most common incisions include near the crease under breast, an auxiliary incision in the underarm area, or an incision around the edge of the areola. In the case of sagging breasts, a breast lift may be performed in conjunction with breast augmentation. Over time, breast augmentation patients will notice that post-surgical swelling will diminish and the incisions will refine.

“I would definitely recommend Dr. Kagan”

I went to see Dr Kagan because one of the breasts implants deflated and I needed and wanted to have the surgery quickly because my breasts looked different. The staff was extremely nice and understanding especially Sue. I had my surgery few days ago (very quickly from my consult appt.) and so far I am very pleased with what Dr Kagan did. I decided to do both breasts. Dr. Kagan is really nice, takes his time during the consult and everyone in the office is extremely nice. Would definitely recommend Dr. Kagan. If I had to do it again he would have been my first choice. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Kagan.
